| In September every year, for the last 11 years, people around the world have been celebrating International Dot Day. It is a day where we recognise that creativity lives inside everyone, within things as simple as a dot on a page. You never know where that dot will take you! The most exciting part of Dot Day is the chance to collaborate and share our creations with others. This year, Mrs Gennari shared our many dot inspired creations on Twitter, one of them was even retweeted by the Dot Day Club themselves! Peter Reynold's picture book 'The Dot' gave us a good insight into how creativity starts and even if we don't think our work is 'perfect', it will always be appreciated by someone in the world! Even a simple dot can be a work of art. You can view it yourself via the YouTube clip to the left. Most of our Visual Arts this year contained a dotty element. On Dot Day this year, Mrs Gennari decided to help us create artworks using black thinned paint, blown around the paper. After they had dried, we added whatever elements we liked to create a character or design. Such imaginations! Go on, try it! |
