After origami we went to the library and Mrs Ball read us a story called 'The tree'. It was a love story but it was different compared to your normal love story, it was the tree loving the boy and the boy loving the tree. We did some taste tests, we had a sour lemon and we had to write down what we thought the lemon tasted like and we had a sticky chocolate and we did the same thing with the chocolate.
Soon after, we played ping-pong golf where you had to aim a ping-pong ball into a plastic cup. Five points were awarded if we threw the ball in on the foul and we got 2 if we bounced. We got 1 if we rolled. My group won twice, then we had lunch.
After lunch we went to art and we drew the person beside us. We couldn't take our texta off the page when we were drawing the person, it was hard. When we finished drawing we painted it then we finished up our first art lesson.
Aboriginal art was next where we painted on a canvas or a boomerang and one of our friends Jye helped us. All the
boomerangs were to make a mural for the high school. We can't wait to see all of our work at the high school next year where it will really help to brighten up the place.
Recess finally came and soon enough we were in the sewing room! We learned how to sew a circle of fabric into a puff flower, with a button in the centre. We all did a great job considering that most of us had never even threaded a needle before. We all enjoyed sewing and Mrs Gennari is going to try and fit some sewing in to our normal classroom routine so that we can be ready for Year 7!
Overall it was a great day and left us wondering what more there is to offer in high school! We liked what we saw! Thanks Wyong High School for a great day.
